Happy Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July all.

Spending today reflecting on my life. Our country is a blessed one. We should take a moment to remember how great it is to live here. Yes, there are some very troubling things happening in our great nation, and we need to start finding a common ground — and maybe that starts with today. Remembering why our country is great. What we stand for. What we aspire to be.

Our nation is amazing. I’d love that our nation has the ideal that everyone is created equal. That we all have the same opportunities. Now, that isn’t necessarily the case, but we are working on it.

With this unrelenting back pain, one can’t imagine how difficult it is to want to lead a life and you can’t. I’m trapped in my own prison. People should not be trapped in prisons that we create for them. Races should be equal. People should be able to love whomever they want. Life is short. Open the boundaries, don’t close them.

I love our country. I love the opportunities it affords. I love the American spirit.

I’m hoping tonight I can step outside my apartment and see some fireworks. That would make my night just a little bit nicer and make me feel like I can participate in the world a bit more.

Happy fourth everyone.
