I’ve decided on a new book!

I have decided on a new book. I have been putting it off, as I’m not well enough to write a whole huge novel. But I feel like I have found a way to do a novel without having to tax my body too much. I can really only stand for an hour, without laying down, and not even consistently through the day.

Therefore, the book that I will be writing will be partially in blog or vlog format. I may actually even write a screenplay if I find that I just can even commit to one hour a day to this.

The book will be called Hope.

It will be centered around a young woman. She will have to face her own demons (although, not literal), makes a very complex decision, which, results in even more complicated decisions. The book will ask the question what is morally acceptable? What is the right thing to do? What can we allow others to do, that we might not find reasonable? Does our opinion change about what is acceptable,  if we have all the facts?

I’m excited.

Anguish: More recording done

Okay, so the hubby was gonna help me put The Choice into Amazon last night, however, he was also flying out to see his parents in Florida today at 4:30a.m.! Wow! I could not believe that he chose a 6:00a.m. flight.

Needless to say, between all the laundry that needed to be done, the packing, the running to the grocery store to help me with my shopping for the week, it left little time for us to put my book into the store. So, it will have to wait until he comes back. I can honestly say though, the poor man had little time to himself yesterday.

So he will be gone for a little over a week. That means that I will have plenty of time to work on the audio recording of Anguish. I already got to Chapter 21 out of 25. That means if I do a chapter every few days, I will be done by the time he gets back.

The back had HOPEFULLY a minor setback last night. The stretching and such has been going better, so I ordered a bike. Needless to say, it didn’t go as planned. I hoping that this has little impact on my ability to get the recording done. I might just have to record one day, then edit the next, instead of trying to get it all done in one day. Either way, it should be fine.

I have the very nice lady who gives me massages coming over tonight to help ease my pain and my roaming mind.

If you want to know more about my back I try and do weekly posts on my blog, www.ihatemyback.wordpress.com. Check it out.

News on future Madeline Fresco books

So, it’s been a long time. The reason for the absence was the fact, still is the fact, my back is not better. The book work has stopped for a while because it was, and is,  just too painful to try and concentrate on new material. Editing proved difficult as well, because it’s hard to look at a hard copy of something while laying down in bed.

However, now I’m getting back into the swing of things. My plan is to release the second book, The Choice, and the third book, Anguish, all in the next few months. I won’t be going with the same publisher again because they were not very responsive.

The Choice is completely done. Cover and all. So, really, all I need to do is get it submitted to a new publisher. The second book, Anguish, I still need to do a cover for. I do think  I have found the cover I want to go with. So honestly, I think that is basically done as well.

The other thing that will be popping up in the next few months is that I will start recording the audio for Anguish. Despite The Choice being half way completed, I did that at a more professional studio, and I think the sound quality would be compromised because my back is not healthy enough to return to that location. Therefore, I will be making a make-shift studio in my closet and give that a go. I’m a little worried about San Francisco street noise. You may have heard some of that street noise when I recorded my into and outro to my episodes. It should be improved with a better microphone and the location of the recording being a room away from the street. But we shall see.

Lastly, Crossed the Line should be available any day on Audible. I tried submitting it once, but I submitted it with three of my chapters to one of theirs. I didn’t think it would matter, as the whole book just winds up being downloaded in its entirety to your computer anyway, but Audible doesn’t want it done that way, so I have to go through and reconfigure the whole thing. It’s only annoying because of my back. It’s not that much work — maybe a few hours, but when you have a hurt back, every moment counts.

So there it is. A bunch of new things happening. Oh, and one more thing. I did start another blog. It’s called I Hate My Back. I’ve been posting there every Wednesday instead. I just thought it might be nice to start a blog that centralizes a lot of the things that happen to someone who has back pain. I would love to read, even now, what another person went through. Now, hopefully, I will help someone else who goes through this. They can go to my site for articles on the spine, on annular tears, on what my PT was like.

Okie-dokie. Check back soon to see how all this new stuff turns out!
