Outlining going good so far

So far the outlining is going good. this is such a fun stage to be in. When all the ideas are flowing. I think it’s good for my brain to get some different inputs going on.

It’s also hard trying to remember that the outline isn’t going to come all at once. There is a simmering process. A reflecting process. A time to think about how you want the book to flow. Plus, this is a bit challenging as I have to separate storylines going.

That’s a good point. I wonder if I should start with one story line first, and play that out, instead of trying to outline both at the same time. Do I start with the good or the bad? Hmm. The bad drives the plot line. Maybe I should write the bad first and then figure out how the good amplifies those negative feelings.

See what I mean? So much to think about!

Have any of you written dual storylines before where they need to sync up? How did you do it?

Outlining will begin today

Image of someone’s screenplay

Today I will begin some mild outlining. It’s so exciting, starting a new book.

I have named three of the characters, and I still need to name the husband. I think on one of my therapeutic walks I will determine his name. Maybe that will be the way through this book — very small decisions here and there.

The other thing that was suggested to me was to make it a screenplay. That could be very interesting. I’ve never written a screenplay before. It might actually be a really good learning experience and it might be quite a bit less taxing on the back. It might be a nice way to reenter the novel writing, with a little bit less of the load.

I wonder if there is any good books out thee in regards to screenwriting — I mean, available on Audible. That way I could listen to it while I relax. I really do like Audible. It might be the best of both worlds.

Well, you never know until you give it a go. Either way I would like to try.

I’ve decided on a new book!

I have decided on a new book. I have been putting it off, as I’m not well enough to write a whole huge novel. But I feel like I have found a way to do a novel without having to tax my body too much. I can really only stand for an hour, without laying down, and not even consistently through the day.

Therefore, the book that I will be writing will be partially in blog or vlog format. I may actually even write a screenplay if I find that I just can even commit to one hour a day to this.

The book will be called Hope.

It will be centered around a young woman. She will have to face her own demons (although, not literal), makes a very complex decision, which, results in even more complicated decisions. The book will ask the question what is morally acceptable? What is the right thing to do? What can we allow others to do, that we might not find reasonable? Does our opinion change about what is acceptable,  if we have all the facts?

I’m excited.

Having trouble signing up for Direct TV online only

All I wanted to do was sign up for Direct TV online only. I lost my line of site when I moved from San Francisco to San Mateo. I had a technician come out and everything.

When I cancelled my product, they said no problem to being able to sign up for my beloved Sunday NFL Ticket online.

That certainly was not the case.

I was on the phone for an hour, hung up on twice, transferred 3-4 times, and was rude to. It was overall a horrible, horrible experience that ended with the fact I could only sign up for it online.

Guess what? I went to sign up for it online, and nope…couldn’t. I decided to do online chat this time to help solve the problem … got hung up on then too! The second lady told me I had to call the regular phone number back! Finally, I asked the second chat lady to have her supervisor call me because I wasn’t going to go through the constant transfers and automated phone system again. I’m still waiting for that call! Also, the online chat help took almost a half hour! It was crazy how long it took to have someone respond to something that you typed!

Worst customer service.

The stupid thing is, I really liked Direct TV. However, this customer service is the worst! As for the person who was rude to me, I went to fil out an online form, which they said they had … well, I couldn’t find it! I spent ten minutes looking for it. Shocking that there is no one to complain to about their horrible service!

Needless to say, I still have to call them back. It’s only a few weeks until preseason and I want to see how my Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will do.

I love the World Cup – what a great final!

Wow! What a game that was! I couldn’t believe how exciting that game was! It started off so strong! Argentina was really coming on fast. I was kind of worried about my team Germany at that point. The marking of the Argentina players of the German players was outstanding. No big open spaces for the Germans to pass in this game!

Some of the shots on goal in the beginning by Argentina were great. It didn’t remain so, but they started strong.

I felt like the first half of the game was won by Argentina. The second half however, was dominated by Germany. Too bad they couldn’t capitalize on it then.

And, so, it went into overtime. Which I was happy about. I really wanted Germany to win, and I felt like Germany was wearing down the Argentina players.

Messi didn’t look so great. His shots were off, he had balls stolen from him, and he just didn’t seem to be playing his best ball. I think we can all agree that Germany really did a great job of taking him out of his game.

Then, that beautiful goal! It was so perfect. One touch then off his boot! Oh, so lovely! Plus, sadly, since I was streaming it, my girlfriend texted my yahoo (!) a minute before the actual goal, so I got to watch the whole thing develop. It was kinda good and bad to be alerted to the goal coming up!

I’m glad that the game didn’t end in PK’s. While exciting, it’s not satisfying if your team loses that way. I know it is all part of the game, but you want a goal, or at least I do. I want the satisfaction of the team work. Not the odds being against one poor goalie. It is so hard to stop a penalty kick.

Oh, and my lovely, lovely goalie that I think is so handsome got the golden glove! Sweet. He is so cute. I really hate it when girls watch sports and then comment on how attractive a player is, but, this man steals my heart.

Not totally sure Messi should have won the Golden Ball. His performance was not so great in the final, so I’m thinking no.

I did like how German Chancellor Merkel hugged the entire German team, especially Manuel Neuer. So nice! You go girl!

I love the World Cup – great match today

What a game. There was a lot of strategy, a lot of good defense, and a lot of solid passing.

It was the exact opposite of the Germany versus Brazil game. That game as almost unbearable to watch. I felt so bad for Brazil, despite the fact I was rooting for Germany.

I thought that the teams, Argentina and The Netherlands looked pretty well evenly matched. The defense was excellent this game. Everyone was marking, there was a lot of pressure. The ball was being played a lot from the middle, not just from the defense. Although, Holland seemed to be passing back a lot more than I thought they should.

I do love Sneijder, but I really wanted him to stop taking the corners. It just wasn’t his day today. Yet, they kept giving him the ball to take the corners. Awful

I felt bad for the goalie, Cillessen. It’s such an impossible task to stop a PK. With the added pressure of having been taking out of the last game and replaced with Krul, anything less that perfection would be his fault. I don’t think it was his fault. Yet, he will be blamed.

Now, I turn my eyes to the final game Germany versus Argentina. I really want Germany to win. I like their players, I like their style of play, and I’m not particularly fond of Argentina. Argentina are floppers. I don’t like Floppers.

Good luck Germany, and let hope Mick Jagger doesn’t show up in a Germany uniform.

Happy Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July all.

Spending today reflecting on my life. Our country is a blessed one. We should take a moment to remember how great it is to live here. Yes, there are some very troubling things happening in our great nation, and we need to start finding a common ground — and maybe that starts with today. Remembering why our country is great. What we stand for. What we aspire to be.

Our nation is amazing. I’d love that our nation has the ideal that everyone is created equal. That we all have the same opportunities. Now, that isn’t necessarily the case, but we are working on it.

With this unrelenting back pain, one can’t imagine how difficult it is to want to lead a life and you can’t. I’m trapped in my own prison. People should not be trapped in prisons that we create for them. Races should be equal. People should be able to love whomever they want. Life is short. Open the boundaries, don’t close them.

I love our country. I love the opportunities it affords. I love the American spirit.

I’m hoping tonight I can step outside my apartment and see some fireworks. That would make my night just a little bit nicer and make me feel like I can participate in the world a bit more.

Happy fourth everyone.
